Keeping the mind continuously in concentration is called meditation.
Method of meditation:
Meditation is done in any meditation posture. If one is unable to sit in
a meditation posture, the only position should be the spine and neck straight,
sitting in any comfortable position like a chair, etc.
Meditation is done in many ways. A person should adopt the appropriate
attitude that he believes. According to the Gita, the way of living and eating
should be regular. First of all, focus on the anterior part of the nostril and
feel the touch of inhaled air. When they are able to follow, feel the
difference in air temperature while going in and out of breath. Next, focus the
attention between the eyebrows and feel the vibration or palpitation, when it
is this way, the concentration of mind can be applied to any place.
According to Gherand Samhita, meditation is of 3 types.
1. Sthool Meditation - Pay attention to place or garden etc.
2. Jyotirmaya meditation - concentration at the center between the
eyebrows.
3. Suksham meditation - This is for those who have reached the celestial
point of meditation. According to Bhakti Sagar, there are four forms of this
meditation.
A. Padastha Meditation - In this, meditation has to be done on the nails
of one's own feet and slowly move upwards, after that, the focus is on the
heart and then focuses on the crown chakra i.e. the upper part of the head.
B. Pindastha Meditation - To cleanse the mind follow Yama, Niyam, Asana,
Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharna, then go through the six chakras towards the
crown (Crown Chakra) and concentrate there.
The point of union of the Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna nerves is known as
Chakras.
It is placed between the anus and the genitals. It is often the location
of the earth's elements. As a result of concentration on this chakra, its
activation increases, and physical strength will also increase.
Swadhisthan Chakra -
It occurs at the base of the genitals. It is the location of the water
elements. Concentration on this chakra increases its activity and ego, greed,
jealousy, and anger, etc. are destroyed.
Manipurak Chakra -
It is situated within the navel line. This is often the location of the
fire elements. Concentration on this chakra results in its activation, which
leads to the development of courage and growth qualities.
Anahata Chakra (Heart Chakra) -
It is located within the heart line. It represents the air component of
the body. Focusing on this chakra makes it active and helps in attaining
material attainments and completely eliminates the desire for non-desired
objects to practice yoga.
Vishuddhi Chakra (throat cycle) -
It is located within the throat line. This is the location of the sky
component. By focusing on this chakra, the person improves peace, happiness,
knowledge, and voice quality significantly improve.
Commandment Chakra (Third Eye Chakra) -
It is situated between the eyebrows. It has the fruits of all the
chakras. The Gita also suggests focusing more on these chakras. Its activation
provides spiritual power and heavenly information. Therefore it is additionally
known as a receptor.
Through all the chakras, meditation reaches the crown (crown chakra). It
disconnects the practitioner from the outside world and becomes one with the
creator. At will, one can meditate on a specific chakra, but the effective
means to do this should start from Muladhara Chakra to Crown Chakra and then
from Crown Chakra to Muladhar Chakra.
C. Roopastha Meditation -
Try to focus in between the eyebrows. Small fire particles appear in the
initial time. After some time, the flame of a lamp appears and step by step the
light of a lamp's necklace. Then a garland of stars, as if lightning is
flashing, is seen. It seems like a lot of moons and suns are shining within
that space and sometimes it seems that billions of atoms are shining in both
hands.
D. Rupateet meditation -
The practitioner loses his or her identity in meditation. He concentrates on the Brahmo Randhra and receives some kind of force known as a cosmic force. This is often the last stage of meditation and is also the beginning of samadhi.
Apart from this, Lord Buddha had found Vipashyana meditation.
Vipashyana Meditation -
Initially, look at the breath from the nostrils with "AANA PAN" and concentrate on it. The breath that goes in is cold and the breath that goes out is hot, the breath has to be felt by the nose. Then this touch becomes very subtle. Then one has to focus on that subtle place and watch the activity in that subtle place.
Start Vipashyana after three to four days. Concentrate the breath, move towards the head, rotate slowly there, then bring it back to face, neck, hands, and feet. After complete observation from head to toe. Do this method in reverse order and the same process has to be continued.
During this time, there will be many sensations, pain, or trembling, etc., these feelings should not be considered pleasant or unpleasant. He should be made to feel like an observer. Emotions come back as stream currents or ocean tides and waves of waves.
Vipashyana can be a spiritual practice of elegant arrangements to purify the mind of adultery, attachment, and jealousy.
Benefits of Meditation:
Meditation controls the mind and ends the state of uncertainty. The
spiritual happiness practiced during meditation breaks all mental blockages and
at the same time makes one feel lighter. Regular adherence removes the weakness
of nerves and increases memory power. Foresightedness and problem-solving
ability to develop.
Meditation focuses on the nature of the active person. And all those who receive his contact are affected by his effective speech, inner glow, healthy body, and good behaviour.
